How to Apply for a Position with the DEP’s Division of Law Enforcement:

Complete and submit both of the following applications in their entirety, including all requested documentation referenced within the Division’s Supplemental Application Package.  DLE will only accept applications when there is a current vacancy posted on the website at http://www.dep.state.fl.us/law/CAREERS/vacancies.htm.  Applications received when there is no vacancy will not be considered and the applications will not be returned.

When Your Application Is Received:

Your application will be reviewed for eligibility for the vacancy for which you have applied.  Only completed application packages will be considered.  Please carefully follow all instructions on the State of Florida and Law Enforcement Supplemental applications.  Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant and will not be considered for employment at that time.  Applications submitted without the requested attachments and documentation will be considered incomplete.

An applicant interview will be scheduled, during which a written evaluation and the Police Officer Selection Test (POST) will be administered.

A thorough background investigation will be conducted on the selected candidate.  The selected candidate will be required to pass medical, psychological, vision exams, and an 8-panel drug screen prior to receiving an employment offer.
